UNDATED (WKZO ) -- Gas prices continue their slide downward as the European financial crisis continues to depress the price of crude oil. The supply is as high as it has been in years and demand is still weak. Triple AAA of Michigan says heading toward the holiday weekend, when they would expect prices to be on the rise they fell 11 cents in a week to an average of $2.71 a gallon for self-serve regular.
Spokeswoman Nancy Cain says they may very well keep on dropping as the summer vacation season officially kicks off this weekend. Even with the drop, gas prices are still 20-cents higher than they were at this time last year.
