THREE RIVERS (WKZO) - St. Joseph Deputies have identified the man who did an escape act that Houdini might have been proud of. Marcus Monroe Thomas was arrested for marijuana possession during a routine traffic stop in Fabius Township and cuffed and placed in the back of a police cruiser.
He managed to get thru the security screen into the driver’s seat and speed away. He got about two miles before he rolled the squad car. He fled on foot, & tried to steal a 2nd unmarked squad car, but didn’t see the deputy inside. He has been formally charged with ten counts including resisting, malicious destruction of police property, and obstruction of justice.
