WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) – A Wausau teen who stole a car on Thanksgiving will have a felony charge dismissed if he keeps a clean record for a year.
Woua Lor pled no contest today to four charges, including one that he took a vehicle without the owner’s consent.
According to court documents, the 18-year-old Lor admitted stealing the car from a woman who was visiting her parents and filling it up twice with gas without paying.
Police saw Lor in the car four days later and chased him 10 blocks on Sherman Street before he crashed into a tree. Lor hit a garbage can and nearly hit a house during the chase which reached speeds near 80 miles-per-hour.
As part of a plea deal, Lor will spend two years on probation, pay $2,100 in restitution and complete 40 hours of community service. He must also write an apology letter to his victims.
