BERRIEN COUNTY (WKZO) -- Police in Benton Township are investigating a single car crash that killed a young girl and could result in charges against the 17-year-old driver. The car was northbound on M-139, after leaving the YMCA, when it went out of control and struck a utility pole.
The 13-year-old in the passenger seat was dead at the scene. A 12 year old was stabilized at the local hospital and then airlifted to Bronson for additional surgery. The Driver and another 13 year old girl were treated and released. No names were released. Police are investigating.
