KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- The Sunrise chapter of the Kalamazoo Rotary has kicked off a fundraising campaign to refurbish the Veterans Memorial at Rose Park. Shari Labrenz says the problem is the lights.

The memorial includes five flags that must be lit at all times, but the lighting built into the ground has run into all sorts of problems with the weather and with vandals. She says they are already 7,000 dollars on their way to their $50,000 goal. They hope to have the work done by Memorial Day in November
