KALAMAZOO -- A late night kayaking session turned into a call for help this week.  Just after midnight Thursday residents off Long Lake heard calls for help coming from the lake.  Pavilion Township Fire and Rescue responded with the Portage Fire and Police Departments and County Sheriff's Deputies to the 5000 block of Deep Point Drive.

Two people were rescued from the lake, one in a kayak and another in the water.  Three more people, each with their own kayaks, had made it back to shore and said that accounted for everyone that was on the lake.  The male subject that fell into the lake was treated at the hospital for mild hypothermia, but they expect he'll be okay.
