KALAMAZOO (WKZO) - Threats of violence, and even death threats, have been directed at some members of congress since health care reform legislation passed last weekend. We had heard that Bart Stupak got threats, but it turns out a congressman a little closer to home was also victimized.

Now, so has Democratic Battle Creek Congressman Mark Schauer who voted in favor of reform legislation. He found the threat in his voicemail this week: Some GOP leaders like House Minority leader John Boehner are openly condemning the harsh words and threats of violence.

At least ten members of congress have reported being the targets of such behavior, including Republican representative Eric Cantor stating that someone put a bullet through his office's window. Robert Bepristis has since contacted Schauer’s staff and apologized, saying he was frustrated and angry and never meant any real harm.
