KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- There are now three men under arrest for that attempt to mug Public Safety Officer Derrick Turner at Drake’s Pond late Tuesday night. The 19-year-old who was wounded by the officer was arrested as soon as he was released from Battle Creek Health Systems.
Now felony warrants have been issued against two others, aged 18 and 20, believed to be the accomplices who helped him escape from the scene of the shooting, who took him to the Hospital in Battle Creek for treatment. They are all expected to be formally charged with felonies Friday afternoon.
