SOUTH HAVEN (WKZO) -- Headed for the beach this weekend? This may change your plans. South Beach in South Haven is the latest stretch of sand to be closed by local health officials because of unacceptably high levels of E.coli bacteria in the water.
They plan daily testing until the contamination is burned off by the sun or dispersed by the wind. It’s a popular beach for sun bathers from Kalamazoo who shoot down M-43 to the lake shore. It will be a long trip for nothing unless your plan is to stay on the shore. The beach has been posted with signs explaining the danger.
