DETROIT (WKZO) - Attorney Geoffrey Fieger claims he has new evidence the shooting death of a 7-year-old Detroit girl that disagrees with the initial police findings. Aiyana Stanley-Jones was shot by Detroit Police three weeks ago as they entered her home in search of a murder suspect. An independent medical examination from Macomb County Medical Examiner Daniel Spitz shows the girl was struck in the top of the head by the bullet. Initial reports by the Detroit Police and Wayne County Medical Examiner said the child was struck in the neck.
Fieger claims the M.E.’s report proves the bullet came from outside the home and he also claims to have seen a tape verifying that. Detroit Police investigators are making different claims. Fieger could just be angling for a bigger settlement.
