KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- The Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in tracking down a pair of muggers. On Tuesday, July 1st, around 7:30 p.m. a Kalamazoo woman stopped at the ATM at the Speedway on the corner of Drake and KL Avenue. She was approached by two men who struck up a conversation, but sensing that something was out of place, the woman left. She didn't realize the two men had followed her until they turned up at her apartment door at Concord Apartments.
One of them flashed a handgun and robbed her of the money she'd just withdrawn, and one of them actually apologized before they fled in a dark blue sedan. After reviewing video footage, detectives say both suspects appear to black men in their early twenties with thin builds, one about 5'10" and the other six feet tall. They ask that anyone with information contact the Sheriff's Office directly or through Silent Observer.
