(East Lansing, MI)  --  Five people were killed in Michigan over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.  Michigan State Police say their preliminary reports show alcohol was not a factor in any of the fatal accidents, and two of the five victims were wearing seat belts.  The five deaths are a notable increase from last year, when just one person was killed during the holiday weekend.  MSP notes, however, that this year was a four-day holiday weekend, while in 2009 it was three days.
