The Red Wings blew a 2-goal lead last night and went on to lose in overtime to Phoenix 5-to-4 at Joe Louis Arena. Detroit led 4-2 late in the third before the Coyotes scored with 90 seconds left in regulation, and then followed up with a goal 67 seconds later to tie the game at four.
Niklas Lidstrom scored twice, Pavel Datsyuk had a goal and an assist, and Patrick Eaves also tallied for the Red Wings, who have dropped five of their last six games. Tonight, it’s Detroit at Minnesota.
