KALAMAZOO -- You may have never seen curling on television or in person but this March some of the best curling athletes in the country will be arriving right here in Kalamazoo.
Wings Stadium is playing host to the 2010 United States Curling National Championships and Kalamazoo Curling Club President Kent Elliot was integral in bringing the championships to Kalamazoo.
Elliot says "It's not often you get a chance to see athletes of this caliber in person, in any sport" Elliot began the Kalamazoo Curling Club by taking participants to a Windsor, Ontario club to teach them how to curl.
He says "Kalamazoo is such a perfect area for curling" which is why Elliot and the club approached Wings Stadium about hosting ice ups for open curling. The club has taken off from there and now the 2010 United States Nationals are coming to Wing's Stadium March 6th through the 13th.
