For the second straight day, the Red Wings lost in an overtime shootout. On Saturday, it was a 3-to-2 defeat at Dallas and then yesterday afternoon at Joe Louis Arena, Detroit went down to the league leading Chicago Blackhawks 4-to-3. Nicklas Lidstrom and Henrik Zetterberg each had a goal and an assist for Detroit while Patrick Eaves scored midway through the third frame for the Red Wings to force the extra time against the Blackhawks. Jimmy Howard made 26 saves in goal for Detroit. Tomorrow night, Detroit plays at Washington. Yesterday in the ECHL,the Kalamazoo Wings lost 4-to-3 in an overtime shootout at Charlotte.
