STURGIS -- Sturgis police received a tip that a pickup truck suspected of being used in several snow blower thefts in Kendalvile, Indiana was in the area Monday. They stopped the red GMC Sonoma on North Centreville Road near International Way.
A brief investigation revealed that the driver had a suspended license and the cargo in the trailer the truck pulled was stolen. The truck had apparently been stolen from the Angola, Indiana area, though police are still trying to determine the origin of the snow blowers.
The driver was taken to the St. Joseph County jail on four counts including possession of stolen property and burglary tools as well as providing false information to police and driving on a suspended license.
