CASS COUNTY -- They got sloppy, literally and now it’s led to their convictions. The owner of a home on Calvin Center Road in Cass County removed a lot of trash from a rental property, and contacted police because of what he found.
Police would eventually count the remains of 188 one-pot meth labs in that trash, and other trash dumped at a landfill in Elkhart. Fifty-one-year old Debra Cheatham has now been convicted on multiple counts and will be sentenced in March. Two others, Brittia Anderson and David Blankenship have cut plea deals.
