It was a thrilling finish last night for the Little Caesar’s Pizza Bowl at Ford Field, where Florida International kicked a 34-yard field goal on the final play to rally past Toledo 34-to-32. Toledo, which was up 24-to-7 early in the third quarter, scored a touchdown and connected on a 2-point conversion pass with 1:14 remaining to take a 32-to-31 lead.
F-I-U faced a 4th-and-17 from its 41, but ran a hook-and-ladder play for a first down which eventually led to the winning field goal in front of over 32-thousand fans in Detroit. Tonight, it’s the Independence Bowl in Shreveport, Louisiana with the Air Force vs. Georgia Tech.
