(Lansing, MI)  --  For the first time in history, the Michigan State Police will be led by a woman.  Governor-elect Rick Snyder announced yesterday he is appointing Lieutenant Colonel Kriste Etue to the top slot with the department.  She is currently the deputy director of the Michigan State Police.  Snyder also announced Kirk Steudle will remain as the director of the Michigan Department of Transportation.  He has held the job since Governor Granholm appointed him in 2006.
