The Red Wings scored late in the second period to take a 3-to-2 lead but the Stars rallied to beat Detroit 4-to-3 in overtime at Joe Louis Arena. Pavel Datsyuk, Patrick Eaves, and Johan Franzen had goals for the Red Wings. Detroit goalie Chris Osgood was denied his 400th career victory.
The Red Wing’s Western Conference lead is down to one point over the Stars as Detroit is just 3-4-and-2 in their past 9 games. The Red Wings return to the ice Wednesday night at home against Vancouver. By the way, Detroit professional sports made history on Sunday, marking the first time any city had its NHL, NFL and NBA teams went into overtime on the same day.
