The Red Wings weren’t at their best last night and the Blackhawks took advantage to beat Detroit 4-to-1 at the United Center. Patrick Eaves scored the lone goal for the Red Wings, who have alternated wins and losses over their last four games. Jimmy Howard stopped 27-of-30 shots for Detroit.
It leaves the Red Wings with a 1-and-1 record this season against the defending Stanley Cup Champions. Tomorrow at 5 p.m., Detroit will face off against Dallas at Joe Louis Arena.
Last night in the ECHL at Wings Stadium, Kalamazoo beat the Reading, Pennsylvania Royals 3-to-2. They’ll play again tonight in Kalamazoo. And in college hockey, Western Michigan hosts Union College tonight and again tomorrow afternoon with a 4:05 p.m. face off for Sunday’s game.
