LANSING -- A Michigan Supreme Court Justice is expected to announce her resignation today.  Justice Elizabeth Weaver reportedly made a deal with Governor Jennifer Granholm to appoint Appeals Court Judge Alton Davis to replace her on the bench.  Weaver's resignation will switch the majority of the court from Republican to Democrat.

Davis is from the Grayling area and has been active in the Democratic Party.  Republicans and Democrats are scheduled to meet in a convention this weekend to nominate justices for two seats on the court held by Weaver and Justice Robert Young, Jr.
