DETROIT -- A federal judge has rejected a request by the City of Detroit to dismiss a lawsuit filed by the family of murdered exotic dancer Tamara Greene. Attorneys for the city wanted the case thrown out, saying that the allegations that city officials including former mayor Kwame Kilpatrick obstructed the investigation into Greene's death are without merit.
Greene was shot to death in 2003 after being linked to a rumored party at the Manoogian Mansion. Depositions in the lawsuit have been obtained from numerous officials, including Kilpatrick and Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox.
