Tony Romo connected on half of his passes during his lone offensive series and the Dallas Cowboys kicked off the preseason with a 16-7 win over Cincinnati in the annual Hall of Fame Game on Sunday evening.
The Lions will open their exhibition schedule Saturday night against the Steelers in Pittsburgh. One of the Detroit players happy to be back in Motown is defensive back Dre Bly, who returns four years after leaving with an unhappy exit when he publicly blamed quarterback Joey Harrington for head coach Steve Mariucci’s firing in 2006.
The 33-year old Bly, who signed a free agent contract in July, says he’s surprised to be back with the Lions and believes his experience will help him and the team excel this season.
Bly was a two-time Pro Bowl selection in his first stint with the Lions between 2003 and 2006.
