MARSHALL -- (WKZO) Hundreds turned out for the first town hall meeting on the Enbridge oil spill at Marshall High School, filling a hot and sultry gymnasium to hear from Government officials on their response.
Officials from Enbridge were there but did not speak to the crowd at the group presentation. Public comments and questions were delivered in one on one break out sessions with the officials and experts from the half a dozen agencies that are dealing with different aspects of the disaster and Enbridge officials after the group presentation.
Congressman Mark Schauer says he has arranged for a Congressional investigation of the spill, and the failure of government regulators to head it off.
