(Detroit, MI)  --  The Detroit School Board wants its power back and is asking Governor Jennifer Granholm to get involved.  The board sent a letter to Granholm and State School Superintendent, Michael Flanagan, asking them to tell Robert Bobb, the state-appointed Detroit schools emergency financial manager, "to immediately restore to the superintendent and Board of Education the necessary mechanisms for the operation and implementation of all academic programming."  The governor says she supports Bobb.  A spokesperson for Bobb says the Board's letter is "political theatre."  The board and Bobb have a public meeting a week from today.
