UNDATED -- What is the deal with gas prices around here? The economy isn’t that much improved, certainly vacation season is over, and demand is lower than it was this summer…so why are some stations pumping at $2.80 a gallon? Gasoline Analyst Patrick DeHaan says its not Michigan’s economy that matters with a national commodity like oil, its reliant upon the nation as a whole. He says they are headed up, but not as far as they went up last year. Gas prices in West Michigan have risen as much as 30 to 40 cents a gallon in just the last few days.
