ANTWERP TOWNSHIP -- Saturday morning, a rogue gust of wind on I-94 sent a Garden City Man careening into the ditch.  Van Buren County Deputies say 82-year-old William Graff was westbound when a blast of air hit his 2008 Chevy Impala.
It began to swerve and he told Deputies he lost control,  over-corrected and wound off going of the road and flipping over.   Deputies say he was belted in and suffered only a shoulder injury.     He was was taken to Bronson Hospital and has already been treated and discharged.

SOUTH HAVEN -- Two Teenagers could face serious charges this week after Van Buren County Detectives say they stole an antique handgun and tried to sell it.
The two 18-year-old males, one from Pullman, the other from Grand Junction were wanted in the disappearance of a vintage Harrington and Richardson Revolver from a home in South Haven Township.    They were picked up and the gun was recovered from a home in the Pullman area.
  They now face felony counts.

KALAMAZOO --   A driver who was too young to be drinking, crashed into a transformer pole along Westnedge Ave. between Maple and Howard and forced officials to close the major roadway just after 2pm early Saturday morning.  There were electrical, phone and cable wires draped down all over the roadway, making it impossible to get through.  
   The 20-year-old Kalamazoo resident was arrested for drunk driving, and sent to the county jail to sleep it off.

SPRINGFIELD --    A 50-year-old Springfield woman is in critical condition after she was struck by a car in the 4200 block of Dickman Road Saturday evening.
The driver of the car did not stop at the accident scene.  Police say the victim, who’s name has not been released, had been walking along the street and began to cross it when she was struck.  Springfield Public Safety got a description of the car and tracked it down, arresting a 24-year-old woman.  She may be formally charged today. 

WAYLAND --  He was a Church Councilor, a youth leader, and band camp volunteer at Wayland High School.  Now three young girls, one of them just 15, claim 24-year-old Shawn Birman of Kentwood, lured them into sexual assaults in church buildings last year.   Authorities say there may be more victims who haven’t come forward. Birman was formally charged last week with four criminal sexual conduct counts, all felonies.  Wayland Chief Dan Miller               says Birman was a sexual predator. They were investigating the assault on the 15-year-old when two other girls came forward. Investigators suspect there may be others and would like to hear from them.    Birman is free on bail but has been ordered to stay away from girls under 18 as a condition of his bond.
