VAN BUREN COUNTY -- A meth addict with a pocket full of drugs and an outstanding warrant tried to outrun police, first with his car and than with his feet. Van Buren County deputies spotted the Grand Prix weaving erratically on early Sunday morning in Columbia Township.
The 27-year-old man from Grand Junction refused to pull oer when they hit the lightss and sirens, and than sped up, leading deputies on a chase for several miles, than stopping abruptly at 57th and C.R. 388 and fleeing on foot, leaving a trail of methamphetamines and lab parts behind him.
He could not outrun deputies and he and a female passenger from Decatur were arrested. The 39-year-old woman was wanted on a warrant for possessing meth.
New charges will be sought.
