KALAMAZOO -- There was what appears to be another example of the rising burglary rate early Tuesday morning. Police in Kalamazoo are looking into a home invasion and armed robbery that happened early Tuesday.
Around 5:30 a.m. officers responded to the 500-block of East Michigan Avenue on a call about a robbery. Once there, the suspect ran. He's described as a heavy-set African American male about six-feet tall.
Officers brought in a K-9 unit that then tracked the suspect to the 600-block of North Pitcher Street, where they executed a search warrant. So far there's been no word if they made any arrests.
