WEST MICHIGAN-Gas prices have been very stable over the past week or two.
AAA of Michigan says average prices in Michigan have gone up just a cent in the last week. With the statewide average stuck at around $2.59 per gallon.
There are some gas stations in west Michigan selling for less than that if you shop around. Nationally the Lundberg Survey says gas prices have gone down a cent over the past two weeks. She says a drop in crude has been offset by an increase in the price of ethanol, but she expects the trend from here to be flat or go down further.
The nation’s most expensive gas is in anchorage Alaska, at $3.28 per gallon where they have plenty of crude but no refineries. In Cheyenne, Wyoming, where taxes are low, you can get a gallon for $2.38.
