ST. JOSEPH -- Two meth dump sites recently discovered in St. Joseph County should serve as a warning to hunters and others that they need to watch where they step.
Meth use is at nearly epidemic levels, in part because of the simpler “one pot” cooking process that just takes a couple of liter bottles and the right caustic chemicals.
One of the dump sites was discovered Monday by hunters along Balk road near U-S 12. The second site was reported to Sheriff’s deputies yesterday by a passerby near County Farm road at Witt Lake in Burr Oak Township.
County authorities were assisted by the DEA and a lab disposal firm in the clean up.
