KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The National Endowment of the Arts has given a $10,000 donation to the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra.
Officials with the KSO say they’ll put the money toward their “Artists In Residence” program, which embeds musicians in nine area communities. The musicians are then tasked with educating and mentoring younger performers and enhancing school music programs.
The money is part of an $82 million package of grants recently approved by those who oversee the endowment.
