It appears that Asian Americans oppose an effort to permit California's public universities to once again consider race and ethnicity in admissions. Their concern; that it will squeeze them out of seats in the classroom. Times have changed; 18 years ago 60% of Asians voted against the affirmative action ban. Since then it appears a majority of the Asian community feels it doesn't need affirmative action. In fact, it now sees it as a detriment to its self-interests.
Apparently a community still considered a minority doesn't believe it needs affirmative action and it doesn't feel its fair for others to get extra consideration based on the color of their skin. So, it's not just whites; it appears people of any race can come to understand the unfairness of affirmative action.
