One lane of Helmer Road is open over I-94 in Battle Creek, Calhoun County. Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) crews are working to repair the bridge and need to close one lane. MDOT is using a new temporary traffic signal to control alternating traffic over the bridge.  Traffic is expected to open up in both directions on Helmer Rd. at app. 3 pm Thursday November 12th.

All ramps between Helmer Road and I-94 also are open.
Traffic back-ups are expected, and motorists are encouraged to seek an alternate route.
