This is an email I received from Jack Hoogendyk's campaign - as I was reading it I couldn't help but think of all the times I have heard conservatives bemoan people from out-of-state getting involved in our local affairs, all the times I've heard conservatives invoke some shadowy liberal boogeyman from another state. Guess they aren't really so opposed to out-of-staters meddling...

Campaign on Hold…for 72 Hours. Fellow Conservatives:
We are working together for a cause, the cause of individual liberty and limited government. That’s what this race is about, but ours is one of many. We want to support our conservative brothers-in-arms anywhere we can. This weekend, we have some very important work to do, right in our own backyard.
Richard Mourdock is on the cusp of a major upset, one that will resonate throughout the land and and send a message of No More Status Quo, to the mainstream RINO Republicans everywhere. Mourdock is a tea party conservative who is challenging career politician, Senator Dick Lugar in Indiana. Early on, nobody was giving him a chance. Today, some polls have him as much as ten points ahead!
The election in Indiana is Tuesday, May 8th, and a Mourdock victory will be a bellwether for the rest of the country. We need to help! So, for this weekend, we are suspending our campaign and asking all of you to do one of two things.
First, you can make phone calls from your home, at no charge, (other than cell minutes if you are on such a plan.) Just login here, follow the simple instructions and in minutes, you will be talking to voters in Indiana. No cost, no dialing, it’s all done on the internet.
Second, join us as we go across the border to do some literature drops door-to-door. No door knocking or person-to-person contact is required, just walking up to the door and dropping off some information. We will be heading down to Indiana Saturday afternoon, (after the Blossomtime parade), and Sunday and Monday.
