According to research released Tuesday by Harvard University and Canada’s McGill University, the United States is far behind other nations when it comes to offering paid sick days, paid parental leave and other workplace benefits. The eight-year study found that out of 190 countries, 163 guarantee paid sick leave, while 177 nations guarantee paid leave for new mothers. The United States has none of these.
