This past week, the Valley Club announced that the club’s board of directors had voted 5-1 to file this week for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. In case that name doesn’t ring any bells, Valley Club is the place where a busload of black children from camp were told they weren’t welcome because they would change the complexion of the pool. The bankruptcy is largely due to legal costs associated with lawsuits surrounding the racist incident.
