A new study by Pew Internet & American Life Project shows that all the time we spend on the Internet or clacking on our iPhones is not leading to social isolationism in the United States. In fact, our virtual lives may actually be good for our real lives: “It also said that use of social networking sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn and MySpace provides an outlet for ‘discussion networks that are more likely to contain people from different backgrounds,’ a plus for diversity.”
