On Tuesday, we learned that nearly half of all U.S. children will be on food stamps at some point during childhood. Yesterday the U.S. Agriculture Department reported that the number of Americans receiving food stamp soared above 36 million for the first time in August. This was the eighth month in a row that enrollment set a record.
