Bill Extension with Drought Aid

 A one-year farm bill extension with livestock drought aid could hit the House floor by Wednesday - but some farm leaders are already skeptical of its chances. American Farm Bureau, National Corn Growers, the American Soybean Association and a host of conservation groups oppose a kick-the-can-down-the-road bill. They agree with drought aid livestock and grazing losses - but not with a one-year farm bill delay that sacrifices program reforms and deficit savings.

NCGA Director John Doggett isn’t even sure an extension bill can pass. As of Monday morning - Doggett says he doesn’t see how this bill comes to the floor and then passes. He just doesn’t think there are 218-votes to get it done.
