Sometime after 11 this morning, Kalamazoo Central - and all of Kalamazoo, for that matter - will learn if its lived up to the latest national challenge:  The president's "Commencement Challenge."

Of course, we'll have the latest on 590, 96-5 WKZO as soon as we know the results.

Everywhere I went this past weekend, people were talking about it. 

"Do you think we'll get it?" They would ask. "Maybe because the president was just in Ann Arbor, they won't want to pick Michigan," they would say.

On the other hand, why WOULDN'T they pick Kalamazoo?  After all, we have the Promise - perhaps the most significant display of commitment to education there is.

Regardless, there are a lot of things K-Central is proud of this year.  Still, this would be some major icing on a pretty good 2009-2010 Maroon Giants cake.
