Just An Idea...

So this Saturday night, MDOT will close Westnedge at I-94 in order to knock down a bridge.  It's all part of the ongoing I-94 widening and reconstructing of the interchange at Westnedge.

It occurred to me - heavy equipment in use tends to attract spectators.  Wouldn't it be cool to set up an observation area, sell tickets and allow people to watch?!  If we did that at various construction areas around the state, I wonder how much money that might bring in to help state coffers.

The governor laughed when I suggested it on the air this week.

Yeah, it's funny.  Mostly tongue-in-cheek.

But, as they say, "in these tough economic times," we have to be creative about coming up with money.  And, DE-struction is supposed to be the best part of CON-struction - at least, so they tell me!
