Oh dear.
This morning we celebrated the life of songwriter, Robert Sherman.
Who?
Not a household name, but when you hear his body of work (like cotton)it's the fabric of our life!
Sherman and his brother Richard won 2 Academy Awards, 2 Grammy Awards and 23 gold and platinum albums.
While they wrote the most annoying song in the history of the world, "It's a Small World (After All)", they also wrote Mary Poppins, Jungle Book, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Aristocats, The Parent Trap and on and on.
Plus Broadway musicals.
Plus pop hits like "You're 16" which reached #1 on the Billboard charts TWICE 14 years apart.
Based on my emails today, you loved the memories...but many of you chastised me for putting "It's a Small World" into your brain. HA!!!!!
Robert Sherman died in England at the age of 86. THANKS for the memories.
