LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) – According to data from the Michigan Department of Education, elementary students improved test scores in English and mathematics.
Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress (M-STEP) results showed gains in third, fourth and sixth grade English Language Arts scores and mathematics scores.
It was not all good news, however, as SAT scores for 11th grade students in evidence based reading and writing decreased, as did scores for mathematics. 36.9% of students were deemed college ready in mathematics, and only 57.8% of students in evidence based reading and writing.
