My heart just bleeds for my snowplow guys who call PlugAway Thursday. They're sitting around playing pinocle waiting for the snow to fly.
They're not the only ones losing their butts this winter: the poor businesses "up north" who depend on the cross-country skiers and snowmobilers for their livelihoods...the plucky ski resorts who are doing a valiant job of keeping what snow they have...my friend who is in the home heating oil biz...
The RETAILERS! Nobody and I mean NOBODY bought coats this year. When I was in Chicago last month there was a SEA of coats all marked down greatly. Glad I waited, though.
And now the bright side----Yesterday I received a tip that a local department store had all their coats marked down to $20. Bought 3. Saved $500.
CBS NEWS mentioned this morning that golf courses in Kalamazoo, Michigan are open!
And for corn sake...THE ROOTBEER STAND is open on Westnedge.
It's a wacky one, that's for sure. I'm a winter fan, but I must admit that blue sky out there is BEEEE-YOOOO-TEEEEE-FUL.
