Wow.
We're becoming rather inured to stupid comments in politics since they come so regularly (Joe Biden last week?).
Usually these things cause the rolling heavenward of the eyes or a harumph or a hearty "give me a break".
Today, though, the world was GOBSMACKED by the stupidity of Missouri state representative and U.S. Senate candidate Todd Akin who was asked in a television interview to address his "no exeptions" policy when it comes to abortion.
He tried to make in a non-issue with the brilliant statement, "If it's a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down."
So if a woman becomes pregnant after being raped her little magic antibodies didn't engage because she was asking for it?
I can't believe anyone so completely stupid is in any position of power (and seeking MORE). It is reallly, really depressing.
