I can't think of any topic more polarizing than PIT BULLS.  (Okay...maybe Sarah Palin) Communities across the country have banned them because of the dangers they pose, but they have their defenders.  BOY do they have their defenders.  Even in light of the fact that a pit bull mauled a 10 day old baby TO DEATH in Kalamazoo this weekend, some fans of the breed still insist that they are inherently gentle.

This morning on my show, Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Chief Jeff Hadley suggested that it might be beneficial to open a conversation on a community-wide ban looking into how other communities do it and whether it would work here. Once that discussion gets going, prepare for fireworks.
