Susan Boyle was supposed to perform on NBC's "America's Got Talent" last night.  At the last minute, Lou Reed--former Velvet Underground frontman-- decided he didn't want her to sing his song "Perfect Day" because "he isn't a fan of hers".  She left in tears.

Can a songwriter just decide, "I don't like you" and then forbid someone from performing their song?  Think of all the painful cover versions of songs we could avoid if that were the case!
