If someone asked you who the top selling musical group of the past decade was, you could guess for hours and not get it right.

The Recording Industry Association of America released its compilation of gold and platinum certifications from 2000 to 2009.  It includes albums, digital songs, music videos and ringtones.

Care to take a stab at it?

THE EAGLES!  You heard me...THE EAGLES!!!  The "Hotel California"/"Take it Easy"/"Desperado" guys.  They had 48 certifications.  This past decade!  And they were originally popular in the 70's.  This blows my mind.

Beyonce' was top artist with 64.  Michael Jackson was also a big seller with 44.
